Thanks for the comment! There's basically no interaction between Natasha and Maria in the movie (the comics, I'm not sure, but that's because they've been revamped and retconned so many times that anything I write is going to be wrong somehow, so my goal was to establish a canon for this story and stick to it; hence Maria being an ex-Rescue Diver). Everything in this fic is extremely behind the scenes and just a stab at what Maria Hill might be like as a character. She's given so little characterization in the film that anything I write is basically an original female character.

I've had those moments where I didn't look at a summary very closely before myself. I read halfway through a fic before I realized it was a pairing I didn't like. That was fun. :) Hopefully i can keep it up with the next five standalone-yet-connected-by-theme parts...thanks!
