Technology is Hilarious: Fic Rec Friday

frea_oSince it’s Friday and I read a hilarious message board short story about time travel, I thought I’d gather a few fics where the characters communicate through digital means. Some are oldies-but-goodies, there are multiple fandoms represented, and I am not being mature at all because the first story involves dickbombing.*

“Clint Barton has sent me a photograph of his glory,” Thor said, and handed Natasha his phone. Quirking an eyebrow, she glanced at it. “This is a courting custom?”
The Avengers use cell phones the way they were meant to be used. Clearly.
Chuck vs. the Emoticon by ne71
Rated PG, warnings for some language, violence, hints of dark past, fandom: Chuck
Chuck and Sarah have an IM conversation. Silliness ensues.
This still stands out as one of my all-time favorites of the fandom (along with the author’s equally-excellent Premium Drunk). It has everything you need: jokes about circus animals! Chuck being the nerdy hero! Twinkie Coladas! Jeff and the IRS! Fairy tales! Even if you don’t know the show, I’d say it’s still a good, gen read.

Movie Night by Hazellazer

“Rodgers hasn’t seen Godfather. Or anything since Wizard of Oz. This must be rectified.” For a few weeks, Natasha thinks Stark’s incessant badgering is the worst thing in her life. Then, in North Korea, ‘worst’ gets its proper definition back.
Tony’s determination to culturally educate Steve about current movies aggravates Clint and Natasha in the field. Read it for the sole hilarity of all of Tony’s texts to them. The texts for the Psycho movie night are a particular favorite, and even more ironic, considering the actress now playing Janet Leigh.
Twittering Avengers by kyaticlikestea

In an attempt to boost their public image, SHIELD gives each Avenger a Twitter account. However, Fury soon realises the error of his ways and it’s up to the Avengers to stop him from pressing the delete button. Decisions are regretted, clothes are shed and 'Stony' trends worldwide.
This is part of an series, but it’s my favorite, solely for Natasha’s twitter account. Which is real, by the way.
